Last-minute July greetings!

Nostalgic greetings!

I almost let July get away without posting, but I am making up for lost time now! The summer is such a busy time that it's hard to carve out time to post. The good news is, I've done a LOT of antiquing this summer and have a lot more cards in my collection for future posts!

As I usually do, I am posting 7 year old birthday cards since it's the 7th month! I don't have many 7 year old cards....I hope I find some at future antiquing adventures!

These 2 cards are from Forget Me Not.

None of these cards had dates listed, but I do think the one with the carousel is very old.

I will be posting again soon! Until then, keep nostalgic!

Nostalgic greetings, friends!

Tonight, I want to send a special greeting to all the Fathers out there. As of this morning, I had no Father's Day card to post but then I went antiquing and all of that changed. I now am the proud owner of one Father's Day card! This one "bowled me over", and I had to buy it!

I also want to share some 6 year old birthday cards, since it is the 6th month.

This glittery monkey card is  not dated

This cowboy/cowgirl themed card is from American Greetings

This cowboy card is hand-dated Dec 22, 1947

This card featuring an elephant in the red flocked vest is from
Buzza Cardozo, Hollywood, USA,  and dated 1978

This card is from Forget Me Not

This flocked blue card looks plain on the outside,
but has lots of color inside

I liked the message on the back too!

This flocked bear card is from Hallmark and dated 1948

The brightly detailed Hickory Dickory Dock card is mechanical and is from Barker and dated 1949

This cute penguin card has a handwritten date of Jan 19, 1949

This school children card is from 1949, from Greetings, Inc.

This card was handmarked 1949

I hope you're enjoying looking at my blog. I found great bunch of cards today (36 cards! and Igot them for a steal) when I was antiquing early this morning, so be looking for more in future blogs!

Stay nostalgic and be sure to tell your father that you love him (today and everyday). I'd do anything to still have mine around.

5 year old birthday greetings!

Nostalgic greetings!

Well, every month I try to feature birthday cards that correspond with that month, but this has a busy month and I almost missed that chance. There are still a few days left in May so, for the 5th month, I will share some birthday cards for 5 year olds.

This cute see-saw card is hand-dated April 13, 1948 inside the card

I really like the bubbles featured on this card

I have gotten a number of these little numbered birthday cards from England.

I don't know anything about this one, but it is a cute card

This cute little hen card is from rustcraft, and is dated  1946

This one has a little bit of cellophane tape damage, where it was taped in an album,
but I like the glittery cowboy & cowgirl.

This card from Rustcraft from 1946 , features a little plastic 5 on the front

I found this card recently, but it was not dated. It looks very old though.

This sweet dog card from Greetings Inc. is hand-dated 1952,
and features a pop-up Happy Birthday greeting inside.

This card from Hallmark, has a flocked jacket and hat and is from 1952.

Circus themed cards are always fun.

This cute pirate dogs card is from 1948

Here is yet another dog card (they were popular for 5 year old cards, it seems).
This one is from Forget Me Not and is dated 1952.

Keep nostalgic and enjoy summer. I'll be posting more cards in June.

Mother's Day Greetings

Nostalgic greetings, friends!

It has been a busy couple of weeks and has been a while since I've had time to post. I couldn't let Mother's Day go by without creating a quick Mother's Day post. So far, I only have 3 Mother's Day cards in my collection, so I will share those with you.

This cute Forget Me Not card caught my eye at an antique fair, and I knew I had to have it.

This card is unique in the fact that it Wishes a Happy Mother's Day Greeting to a Friend's Mom. I haven't ever seen one of those before.

This third card is really cute and I like the sentiment inside.

I will dedicate this blog post to my mother, Sharon. She painstakingly saved a number of my greeting cards from my first years, and that likely instilled my great love of vintage cards.

For my mother, I will also type lyrics from a special song from my childhood:

Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral,Too-ra-loo-ra-li,Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral,Hush, now don't you cry!Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral,Too-ra-loo-ra-li,Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral,That's an Irish lullaby.

Happy Mother's Day to my mother and all the mothers out there!

Stay nostalgic!
Mary
